“The great secret of true success, of true happiness, is this:
The man or woman who asks for no return, the perfectly unselfish person, is the most successful.”

Kate Dessommes

Kate has been teaching yoga since 2004 and practicing since she was a child.  Her first experience in dance incorporated yoga although she did not know that at the time.  During her early twenties she took her first class at the local YWCA and her love affair with yoga began.  After moving to Portland she met her first Guru and began to seriously study yoga.   Kate visited India and attended Christ University in Bangalore, during spring semester 2016 as part of a study abroad program through Portland State University.  Kate's time in India forever changed her perspective on life and teaching.  The experience led her to release all worldly possessions and commit herself to a life experience rooted in joy. Travelling around the world and pursuing a spiritual lifestyle free from hindrances  is foremost in her goals.  Kate is a master teacher and is certified with Yoga Alliance as a Continuing Education Provider.  Kate also holds a Bachelors of Science from PSU,  graduating Magna Cum Laude, completing a double major in Social Science and Arts and Letters during the Summer of 2016.

Kate specializes in teaching Seniors, Veterans, Amputees as well as main stream students.   Kate is affiliated with Yoga Warriors, Yoga for Amputees and Yoga for Seniors, a Duke University supported program for Seniors.
